About the Filmmaker

Kelly G. Sherman

Kelly G. Sherman was born in Detroit, Michigan. Moved to Centreville, Virginia at a young age; when his mother remarried. He always loved watching films, but it wasn’t until he took a TV production class his junior year of high school, that he truly began his passion for making films. He started making numerous shorts with his best friends around the neighborhood, whenever he could. Moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana in late 2006 to take full advantage of the prospect of work, because of the state’s new film tax incentive program. Kelly has lived in Los Angeles as well, working on a good mix of studio and indie productions. Kelly has worn every hat on a set, overall, he loves to direct. In 2015 he took a 8 year hiatus from filmmaking to concentrate on family, after the birth of his son. Now he’s back, doing what he loves… Taking a look at great stories that enthrall audiences to their core. To him, LOVE & HUMANITY will always be the answer. That’s a through line in every aspect of what he holds most dear as a storyteller. Finding stories that make us feel seen, and less alone.
